I bought this dress for Homecoming. I was seeing for something a minuscule different than what everyone else is wearing, something somewhat "steamchic" without screaming "steampunk." This dress fit that record perfectly.
When it arrived it was a minuscule larger than I expected, and it had to be taken in. It is generous through the bust (in a good way for person like me). It is also longer than I expected it would be after reading other reviews. The lace is very soft, high quality, with a good solid zipper. It has a generous built-in crinoline that creates the exquisite number of "pouf" in the skirt. No further slip is necessary.
I took it to a local dressmaker for alterations. She was very impressed with the ability of the lace, and said it would cost $400 for her to double this dress.
The only problem is the waist ribbon, which is needed to cover a somewhat unsightly waist seam. It rolls easily, and has to be pinned in place to keep it "open" and wide.
